VW Golf V with a DPF fault

Affected Vehicles:

VW Golf V

1.9 TDI DPF

2006 - 2009

Fault code:

  • P0473 (Exhaust pressure sensor 1 circuit high)
  • P2002 (Diesel/petrol particulate filter efficiency below threshold (bank 1))

Symptoms:

  • Engine warning light came on IPC
  • Loss of engine power
  • The engine switches to limp home mode

Possible Cause:

  • Faulty differential pressure sensor
Repair Steps:

1. Check the engine for stored fault codes.

P2002 (Diesel/petrol particulate filter efficiency below threshold (bank 1) stored.

2. Autolgic Guided Data (AGD)  smartcase:

  • Access AGD via DrivePro:

  • Type in fault code 'P2002' into the search bar

    • Cause dislayed: 'Faulty differential Pressure Sensor' (Below)

3. Check the vehicle pressure sensor.

  • If the Vehicle Pressure Sensor is found to be faulty, replace it.
    Call IVS 360TM for guidance on replacing the sensor.
